Doing the Rain Dance
I've got curly hair and skin that's been genetically browned by the sun. Within me, i've got DNA that tells stories. My roots are in Ethiopia. What goes on in my head is never left in my mind so I share by writing. I write obsessively. I live for poetry. Coexisting floats my boat in all aspects of life- I hope you agree. Every 'type' of human exists in my family (try us, I dare you). I love looking at things, traveling, using ball point pens on notepads, using the subway, speaking in accents, being on stage, reading and mangos. My favorite continents are Latin America and Africa. My favorite cities are New York, Paris and, of course, Addis Ababa (of many). I admire classical music/opera and hip hop/rap.
I created a 'tumblr' to get in touch with the right side of my brain and expose my work. All the poetry and writing belongs to me and every single one, unless marked otherwise, was written by me at some point in time. All the images represent something I find fascinating or extremely relevant.

They’re at war with their home. Or maybe it’s s and m gone wrong. The walls make the couple look so small. I don’t even know if this is their house or not. It’s just an assumption. Maybe they’re strung out on something and put on 1/3 of their superhero costumes because they saw malicious aliens. I need to stop bringing up aliens into everything. I want to know what everyone thinks of this painting. It’s mind-boggling. *at least they got each other’s backs*

I don’t want him to be known but I want him to be successful. It sounds weird, yeah, but he has so much talent! Just like so many other artists before they blew up and conformed. This dude is one of my absolute favorite artists ever but I can already tell you that if he becomes well known, his music will change in the negative direction. It happened to most rap artists. He does a good job of story telling with his rhymes.

But then the frolicking skeletons turned into aliens as they ran off cliffs and came back to the cursed shoreline to haunt those who dare swim there after them. ‘Haunting’ to them was shooting laser beams at their human successors/occupants of their past territory. Don’t mind the boats though.

The sad thing is, nobody knows what the meaning behind this art is. To them, it’s just the Obey logo (if they even knew THAT) and they see it on clothing and on tumblr. If any of you live in a major city, you’d know that this logo can be seen on lampposts and walls among gritty graffiti and was originally created by an urban artist DECADES ago. Any of you ever hear of Banksy? Look him up. He’s the man behind Obey [Propaganda]… Banksy is not a young urban hipster artist. He’s an old white man with a lot of political frustration.
